Shri Vyadeshwar Temple is an ancient temple of Lord Shiva, which was established in Guhagar, Maharashtra. This city has clean beaches without any pollution and white sand around it. This is a destination of several chitpavan Brahmins.
It is assumed that Lord Shiva has been living in Guhagar in the form of Vyadeshwar Shivalinga from several years. Other myths say that Vyadeshwar Temple was built after the reinvention of Vyadeshwar Shivalinga.
History
According to the history of this temple, Lord Parshurama requested Lord Shiva to visit Konkan land everyday so that he can see him. Lord Shiva accepts his request but after the birth of Lord Rama and Krush, Lord Shiva took the form of Shivalinga located in Konkan land. This Shivalinga is called Vyadeshwar.
Architecture
It is made in Panchayatan style with four assisting shrines present in all four corners. This prime shrine is present in the middle of this podium. Lord Shiva is present at the center and the surrounding deities are Lord Ganesha, goddesses Parvati, Lord Vishnu and Devi Lakshmi and Sun. A statue of Nandi is located in front of prime shrine. All statues are made of marble.
