Location
Padmini Garden is located in Chittorgarh, one of the oldest cities of the state. Padmini Garden honors the memory of Rani Padmini, the Queen of Chittor, known for her enchanting beauty. It was built by Maharaja Sajjan Singh within the Chittorgarh Fort. The garden is famous for its mesmerizing visuals, colorful flowers, and intricately designed gates.
History
Padmini Garden stands testimony to the bravery and beauty of the Queen who preferred to sacrifice herself rather than give it to the evil designs of the Sultan of Delhi, Allaudin Khilji. The Sultan was enamored by the bewitching beauty of Rani Padmini and wanted her to reciprocate. He decided to invade the city for this purpose. When it became apparent that the Rajputs were on a losing trail, the Queen and other women in the palace decided to take the path of Jauhar, a form of self-destruction in which a ceremonial pyre is lit and the women jump in to it to save their honor when defeat by the enemy forces becomes certain.
The warriors of opened the gate of the fort's and fought until their death. Queen Padmini and the other women in the palace gave up their lives at the same time to save them from being captured alive by the Allaudin Khilji and his forces.
Details
Padmini Garden is one of the oldest in city of Chittorgarh but was refurbished and renovated to be in sync with modern times. While the basic design of the garden still remains a lot like the other popular gardens of the city, what makes this place stand apart is the western design that have been recently incorporated. The garden is extremely well-maintained and is the perfect place to spend some time with nature amid lush green trees, beautifully arranged flower beds and the gentle wind that blows in freshness that cannot be experienced in city environs.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit the garden is during the winter months from October to February. The climate is pleasant and enjoyable unlike the unpleasant experiences that you may have to face due to extreme heat of summer months.

Padmini Garden is very close from Chittorgarh main city and can be reached using local bus or taxi service. The nearest bust stand is just two kilometers away.

The nearest railway station is Chittorgarh railway station which is 2 km from the garden.
