Some of The Prominent Stadiums in Gujarat


Bilakhiya Stadium

Bilakhiya Stadium is located in Vapi (Near Daman & Diu). This stadium was utilized for a national cricket match of Cooch Behar Trophy in 2002. It has also hosted one test each and one day international matches for Women's cricket team.

Moti Bagh Stadium

Moti Bagh Stadium is basically a cricket stadium located in the Baroda region. The stadium forms part of the 700 acres Lakshmi Vilas Palace building. The stadium which is ideally located in the center of Baroda city was built by the rulers of Baroda - the Gaikwad’s who were regarded as the patrons of cricket in Baroda. The stadium has a seating capacity of 18,000 people. This ground is no more used for international matches as it gave way to another stadium, the IPCL Sports Complex Ground.

IPCL Ground

IPCL ground is located in Vadodara and is also called as Reliance stadium (managed by Reliance). It is the home ground for Baroda Cricket team which is a domestic team of India. IPCL stadium has hosted 10 ODI matches, but is yet to stage a test match.

Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Ground

This stadium is located in Rajkot region. It has hosted 10 ODIs and 86 first class matches.

Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium

This stadium, also known as Khanderi cricket stadium, is located on the outskirts at Khanderi village on Jamnagar highway. It is a modern stadium with all amenities like squash, basketball, tennis, volleyball, badminton courts, indoor stadium and a swimming pool. Initially, the stadium was used for Ranji Trophy. However in January 2013, the first international match was played on this ground between India and England.

Sardar Patel Stadium

This is one of the popular stadiums of the state located at Motera in Ahmedabad. This is the largest stadium in the state owned by Gujarat Cricket Association with a seating capacity of 54,000. The stadium is fitted with flood lights to cater the day-night matches. It is a common venue for test and ODIs in most of the series. Initially, it was called as Gujarat Stadium, however it has been renamed as ‘Sardar Patel Stadium’ to honor India's first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. The stadium has hosted more than 20 ODIs.

Sardar (Vallabhbhai) Patel Stadium

This stadium is located in the Navrangpura locality of Ahmedabad. It is also known as Sports Club of Gujarat Stadium. This stadium has the distinction of holding the first ODI match played in India. However, a new stadium by similar name is now functioning in Motera. This stadium is one of the home grounds for Gujarat Cricket Association and Ranji trophy tournaments are hosted here. This stadium also has flood lights to host day and night matches.
