Rajasthan is a wonderful place because it is inundated with forts that depict the reign of the different Rajput dynasties. The state is blessed with 6 airports out which 2 are accessed by the national operators and one belongs to the Indian air force.  If one is touring Rajasthan, it is important to use these 3 airports.

The state has national as well as international airports.  People can catch flights from Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, however the Jaiselmar airport is operational for a limited time period. Apart from one international airport all the others are national and would go a long way in providing efficient communication to the users. Indian Airlines conducts daily flight to the destinations in Rajasthan from Delhi to Mumbai. Private operators like Jet also provide services on the aforesaid routes.  People should check in one hour before the departure of the flight.

Sanganer Airport (Jaipur)

Jaipur international airport is a huge entity with all the basic amenities available to the travelers. It is located in the southern direction of the city. Apart from housing an international terminal, it is a national airport too.  There are many flight operators conducting their flights through the airport. Air India, Go air along with Jet Airways provides amazing connectivity to the travelers. There are many passenger facilities located within the airport and some of them are car rental, money exchange and the restaurants.  Free local calls facility and internet options along with mobile charger are available to the users. Civil Airport Jodhpur (Jodhpur)

The domestic airport at Jodhpur is at a distance of 5 Km from the city.  Different airlines like Jet Airways, Air India and Go air provides variety of options to the travelers.  The city experience flights from variety of destination such as Delhi, Mumbai along with Jaipur and Udaipur.  The airport comprise of tea and coffee points. Vending machines are also located in the vicinity for the travelers.

Maharana Pratap Airport (Udaipur)

It is a domestic airport and is located about 22 km away from the city.  It is one of the busiest airports because it receives flights from different sources such as Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur along with Jodhpur. Major airlines include the Jet airways and the kingfisher.  Inside the airport, people can shop for different items such as books, magazines and the news papers. Money exchange facility, mobile recharge and the tourist information center is located within the premises.

Kota Airport (Kota)

Domestic airport of Kota was functional till 1997 when it was closed down due to the lack of flight, however private operators conduct flight on this route.

Jaisalmer Airport (Jaisalmer)

It is located 9 km away from the city; however it is only open for Indian Air force and its fighter planes.

Nal Airport (Bikaner)

The airport at Bikaner is under construction and would be soon in operation. It is situated 17 km away from the city.

Upcoming Airports

The central government has allocated funds for the construction of low budget airports at Alwar, Kota and Bhilwara. These towns are known for their artistic works and many tourists come from all over the world to buy the products. Often they have to travel by road which is costly and cumbersome. Ajmer would soon have its own airport due to its proximity to the dargah and the pushkar temple.  Kota and bundi are famous tourist destinations because the former is inundated with coaching centers for the students. They come from all parts of the country. So the flights are necessary for them to accomplish the task.
