Jawhar
The aristocratic city of Jawhar is situated in the Thane District of Maharashtra. It is quite similar to Mahabaleshwar in terms of its pleasant climate. It has a number of tourist spots such as Jai Villas, Dadara Kopra Falls, the relics of old palaces, the Hanuman Points, the Sunset point, the Hanuman Point and Shirpamala. Jawhar was historically a tribal kingdom and it is also home to some of the best Warli paintings, depicting indigenous life.
History
The origins of Jawhar date to as far as 1343 AD. During the British Raj, it was included within the Bombay Presidency and earned the prestige of a 9-gun salute status. This city was last ruled by Kshatriya king, Raja Patang Shah Mukne, around the time India got independence.

The closest airport is Mumbai.
Rail
Though Igatpuri is the closest station about 61 kms on Central Railway but Nashik is an easier way to commute. Dahanu is 65 kms away on the Western Railway.
Road
Many tourists prefer road trips from Mumbai, Nashik and Kasara. Mumbai, Thane and Nashik offer state transport bus facilities.
