Chandel Valley

Located just 10 Km from the glaciated Bani Valley at an altitude of 4200 Ft, Chandel Valley features beautiful orchards of apples, walnuts and almonds. The nearest broad gauge railhead is at Jammu. Jammu is connected to several major cities of India by trains like Kolkata, New Delhi, Rourkela, Jamshedpur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Udhampur, etc. from Jammu tourists can get buses or taxis to reach Kathua.
By Road
Kathua is conveniently linked to several major cities of Jammu and Kashmir by road. Buses can be availed from major cities such as Jammu, Udhampur, Shimla, Katra, Pathankot, Srinagar, Chandigarh and New Delhi. Jammu & Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation bus service can be availed easily to get to Kathua. Taxis and car rentals are also available.
Best Time to Visit Chandel Valley
Chandel Valley has an amazing and pleasant climate. The winters are cold and snowy. The summer months are comparatively pleasant and quite cool. The best time to visit Chandel Valley is from March to June.
- Winters (October to February) are quite cold in Chandel Valley. The temperature usually goes below zero degrees. Snowfall is common in the area and tourists get a chance to enjoy exciting views and fun filled winter sports during this season.
- Summers (March to June) are pleasant and features moderate temperature. Summer is the most suitable season to visit Chandel Valley. The peaks can be seen covered with snow. The valley can be seen in its full bloom during the summer months.
- Monsoon (July to September) months see heavy rainfall. Visiting Chandel Valley during this time can be a bit difficult.
The summer months are the best time for tourists to visit Chandel Valley. This is when visitors can see the best of the area. Winters are also good to visit but the area gets covered in snow. Tourists who wish to enjoy snowfall will like this weather. Visiting Chandel Valley during the monsoon months is not a good choice.
