Located at Okhla, New Delhi, the National Small Industries Corporation is a PSU working under the Government of India from the year 1955. The organization, which falls under the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises of India has helped many entrepreneurs to develop their own small scale industry in the country.
The National Small Industries Corporation, also known as the NSIC was established in the year 1955 for developing and promoting small scale as well as micro scale industries in the country. NSIC has helped many enterprises and industries in the country to operate successfully. The organization, which initially came into existence as an agency of the Government of India became a self-owned corporation of the government in the later days. It also received an ISO 9001-2008 certificate. NSIC has established a countrywide network of technical centres and offices. The organization also has an office in Johannesburg for managing the works in the African countries.
The NSIC Bhawan is located in the Okhla Industrial Estate of New Delhi. Branches are located in different parts of the country and focus on different areas of production. Chennai division focuses on leather and footwear, Howrah division focuses on general engineering, Hyderabad gives more emphasis on electronics and computer application and New Delhi Unit focuses on machine tools as well as its related activities. Rajkot division focuses on activities related to energy conservation and energy audit, Rajpura aims at domestic electrical appliances and Aligarh unit focuses on loc cluster & Die as well as tool making.
