Ada Pradhaman

Brief Description

Ada Pradhaman is one of another payasams (sweet dish). It is more popular in Southern state of Kerala in India. Ingredients for Ada Pradhaman Recipe

  • 1 cup - Raw rice
  • 1 cup - Sugar
  • 2 - Coconuts
  • ½ kg - Jaggery

For Garnishing

  • ¼ cup - Cashews
  • ¼ cup - Raisins
  • 6 - Cardamom
  • For frying - Ghee

How to make Ada Pradhaman Recipe

Making the Batter for the Ada

  • Take rice and soak it about 1hr, Drain it well and keep aside onto piece of cloth about 2hrs. Now grate it and sift it via fine sieve.
  • Add 2tsp ghee and sugar put it on average heat till it become chapathi or cookie batter.

Making the Ada

  • Divide it into 6 parts informing of square via plantain leaf. Keep it above the heat for about a minute to make them smooth or flexible.
  • In a pan, boil the plenty water. Now keep batter and spread on the back side of plantain leaf and transfer it into the pan.  Cook it till the batter is use completely.  Cook ada till they float.
  • Now steam them 3 to 4 at a time in a steamer. After that remove it, drain and clean out the adas and wash it with plenty water. You can change the water 3 to 4 times to remove the stickiness nicely and chope fine.

Making of Ada Pradhaman

  • Grind the coconut and keep milk ¼ cups, 1 ½ cups and 2 cups separately.
  • Now warm ¼ cup ghee in a pan and fry the ada well. Then mix 2 cups milk, sugar and jiggery and heat it on average flame about 10 mints.
  • Now keep 1 ½ cups milk and boil it about five minutes. Add the 2nd milk and boil for 5 min. Mix it into the mixture and switch off the flame. Keep stirring continuously. Sprinkle 1tsp of cardamom powder and knead well. Now garnish it with fried cashews and raisins.
