Business Sector

Gujarat is one of the richest in terms of industrial and business growth. It is the most preferred destination for budding entrepreneurs as well, as the state doesn’t encourage any kind of bribes to officials. The nickname of Gujarat, “Growth Engine of India” is not without reason. One of the major business tourist projects that are conducted once every two years is the Vibrant Gujarat Project. This is a conference that is attended by business bigwigs, corporates, entrepreneurs and policy makers from all over the globe and the country to understand the scope of business opportunities that the state has on its plate. Gujarat has become a benchmark for most of the other states in the country in terms of industrial and business growth. There is a on ongoing  business project in Gujarat by name, Gujarat International Finance Tec-City which is going to give the other major technical and finance companies in major cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Gurgaon a run for their money.

Hill Station Sector

Gujarat is home to some amazing and picturesque hill stations like Wilson Hills, Pavagadh, Saputara and Mount Girnar. A few of these also double up as pilgrimage places. The scenes that are visible from these places are simply out of the world and the climate is always cool and pleasant here.

Gujarat is a place that had witnessed rules from kings belonging to varied dynasties. Due to the great royal connection that this place has, it is full of forts, palaces and museums that are architecturally brilliant and considered as treasures by the archaeological department. A few of these palaces also function as heritage hotels where the guests are treated nothing short of royalty. One of the most famous palaces in Gujarat is the Sri Laxmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara. The rich historical heritage of the state is evident from the fact that it was one of the main areas where the Indus Valley Civilisation took place. It contains the world heritage places like Lothal, Dholavira and Champaner.

Cultural Sector

Gujarat has a very rich culture when it comes to folk music, handicrafts and artefacts, embroidered clothes, bamboo art, craft of wood carvings, block printing, metal craft, Bandhani, pottery, rogan painting and many more. Since, Gujarat was involved in trade activities with many countries right from its inception, it contains shades of cultural aspects even today from countries like Holland, Arab, Portugal, UK and Mughal rule impacted countries.

Religious Sector

There is no dearth for pilgrimage places in Gujarat as there are ancient temples here which have interesting stories behind them. This place is also home to some famous mosques and churches. There are few important shrines dedicated to the religion of Jainism as well. Some of the famous temples in the state which attracts a large number of tourists every year are the Sun Temple at Modhera, Somnath Temple, Mount Girnar Temple, Akshardham temple, Dwaraka, Ambaji, Pavagadh and many more.

Wildlife Sector

When we think of Gujarat, we cannot restrict ourselves from thinking about Gir National Park. This is the place where the world’s rarest lions are preserved in their natural habitats. Other famous wildlife sanctuaries and reserves in Gujarat are National Park for Marine Life, National Park at Vansda, Bustard Sanctuary of Kutch, Bird Sanctuary of Nalsarovar and Velavadar Blackbuck National Park. At the bird sanctuaries here, one gets to witness some of the most exquisite migratory birds like Pelicans, Flamingos and Storks. The rich flora and fauna of these wildlife sanctuaries attract millions of tourists every year.

Festival Sector

Tourism is at its peak in Gujarat during important fairs and festivals. Navratri is a festival that is celebrated with huge fervour here as men and women engage in the Garba Dance all through the 9 days of this festival and dress up in their best costumes. During Makar Shankranti, Gujarat plays to host to the famous Kite Festival which is witnessed by many local and international tourists. The Rann Utsav, Modhera Dance Festival, Tarnetar Fair and Vautha Mela are some important fairs and festivals hosted by Gujarat.

Medical Sector

Gujarat is one of the most advanced state in India when it comes to medical treatment. Every year around 1500 foreigners come to the state to avail the latest medical treatments from highly qualified professionals practicing in the state. Medical care is affordable in Gujarat when compared to some of the other states. Most of the hospitals are fully equipped with instruments and machines that are of high standards. Ahmedabad leads the preference list when it comes to medicine in Gujarat.

Luxury Train – Royal Orient Train

The ‘Royal Orient train’ experience is another reason why most of the foreigners visit Gujarat in huge numbers every year. This is a train that runs between Gujarat and Rajasthan and treats its passengers like royalty providing them with highly commendable services. The train is fully furnished with the latest technology and offers extreme comfort and relaxation to its guests. However due to maintenance activities, this train is currently suspended.

By Air

International tourists can get down at Sardar Vallabhai Patel International Airport at Ahmedabad to get to the state. There are around 17 domestic airports in the state including the ones at major cities like Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Bhuj, Jamnagar etc.

By Train

There are lots of railway stations in Gujarat which are well connected with the other main cities of the country. Vadodara Railway Station is the one that is the busiest in the state followed by the railway stations at Surat, Ahmedabad and Rajkot.

By Road

The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation operates a fleet of buses that connects all the main cities of Gujarat and also connects Gujarat with most of the nearby states. The internal medium of transport within cities in Gujarat is usually auto rickshaws.
