The hospitals in Assam have reasonable infrastructure and provide affordable medical care to its patients. There are both government and private hospitals in all important cities. Currently, there are around 73 hospitals scattered all over 16 prime areas like Silchar, Rangla, Kamrup, Tezpur, Sonitpur, Guwahati etc. These hospitals are all located at places that are easily accessible, so that patients do not feel any discomfort. Guwahati, being one of the most important residential and commercial cities, houses around 7 big hospitals at least in addition to the small clinics and nursing homes.
