Currently, there are around 380 hospitals in West Bengal, which includes both private and government-owned hospitals. Out of these, a huge majority of hospitals, that is around 310, are found in the capital city of Kolkata. These hospitals are equipped with all the latest technological equipment and provide specialised yet affordable medical care to their patients. There are doctors qualified in many fields like allopathy, Ayurveda, naturopathy, homeopathy etc. Separate hospitals for children can also be located in the state. Some of the other important cities where hospitals are found are Howrah, Hooghly, Siliguri, Midnapore, Burdwani, Bankura, Durgapur, Asansol, Ranigani, Murshidabad, Naihati, Barrackpur, Kalyani, Darjeeling, Bishnupur etc.
