Tour to Goa - Pearl of the Orient

In terms of size, Goa is the smallest in the country, but in terms of contribution to the country’s GDP, it is the highest.  In terms of most-populated state, Goa ranks fourth from the bottom. This beautiful state is located in Western India in the Konkan area. It is covered by the Indian states of Maharashtra and Karnataka on its north, east and south respectively and by Arabian Sea on its west.

Goa is one of the most sought after tourist spots both by foreigners and Indian nationals because of its beautiful beaches, silvery sands, ancient buildings with wonderful architecture, many old temples and churches etc. Goa is also recognized as a biodiversity site because of the exotic collection and flora and fauna that one can find here, nestled within the Western Ghats.

Contrary to most of our expectations, Goa is not just about beaches. The place has a rich cultural background that is yet to be explored fully. If one wants to know the real Goa, then one must venture into the remotest interiors of the city’s buildings. Located far away from the seas, these buildings are standing evidences of the rich heritage that Goa possesses.

According to the data collected during 2013, Goa was the first choice for holding parties at shoe-string budgets among the Indian tourists and tourists from Britain. The State Government has undertaken new initiatives with which it is confident that Goa will soon become the first choice for luxurious and high-level parties as well.

Of all the beaches, some of them that have managed to catch the fancy of tourists are Colva Beach, Miramar Beach, Varca Beach, Fort Aguada Beach, The Calangute, Candolim Beach, Baga Beach, Anjuna Beach, Dona Paula Beach, Majorda Beach Vasco Da Gama Beach, Bogmalo Beach and Vagatore Beach.

Goa is also a huge hit among the tourists because of the festive spirit of the place. During the evenings, a ferry ride on the Mondovi River will introduce the tourists to the festive and cultural life of Goa through songs and great sea food.

The Koppen climate nomenclature has classified Goa’s climate as tropical monsoon. Due to its geographical placing in the tropical zone and its proximity to the Arabian Sea, Goa experiences quite a hot and humid temperature all through the year.
