Arunachal Pradesh has around 12 blood banks currently. All of these are located in close proximity to big hospitals so that blood can reach the needy patients on time. Itanagar and Subansiri cities have 2 blood banks each while Changlang, East Kameng, East Siang, Lohit, Tawang, Upper Siang, Dibang Valley and West Siang have one blood bank each. The source of blood stored in these banks is blood donation camps conducted by non-profit and charity organisations. Some of the blood banks found in the state are Blood Bank General Hospital, Blood Bank Ramakrishna Mission Hospital and Blood Bank District Hospital.
