In comparison to the plains, the northwestern part of the state is adorned with high mountain ranges that give spectacular trekking prospects to the visitors. Few of the major languages spoken in this area comprises of Hindi, English and Urdu.

The major attractions of state can be listed as Taj Mahal in Agra that is also part of Seven Wonders of the World and hence attracts many tourists, Fatehpur Sikri in Agra, divine ghats of Varanasi, many hill stations and Jim Corbett Tiger Reserves. The capital city of the state of Uttar Pradesh is Lucknow. The city is also named as the city of Nawabs since the existence of this location is because of Nawabs.
