Shanthakumaran Sreesanth

An Indian cricketer named as Shanthakumaran Sreesanth took birth on 6th February, 1983 in Kothamangalam, in the Indian state of Kerala. He is a right-handed tail-ender batsman as well as right-arm fast-medium-pace bowler. He is been playing for Kerala and Indian Premier League in the first class cricket. He represents Rajasthan Royals and Kochi Tuskers Kerala was also represented by him. He prides Kerala for being the premier Ranji player of the state playing Twenty20 cricket for the country.

A. K. Antony

A great personality named as Arackaparambil Kurien Antony also took birth in the Kerala state on 28th December, 1940. He is a politician and the Defence Minister of India at present. He is the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the upper house of parliament, Rajya Sabha. He was also the Chief Minister of Kerala in the past.

Arundhati Roy

Gaining popularity worldwide for the Man Booker Prize for Fiction in 1998, Arundhati Roy, the Indian author and political activist took birth on November24, 1961. She penned down the famous novel - The God of Small Things in 1997 which became the highest selling book by a non expatriate author of India. She’s been known for involvement in environmental along with human rights causes. She took birth in Shillong, Meghalaya, India.

Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan came into this world on January 1, 1978 and is an Indian film actress seen in Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali language films. When she was sixteen, she performed her acting role for the first time in Hum Paanch in 1995. She tried and made a number of attempts for building her career in movies but was not successful so she went for music videos and television commercials. She was seen in making debut as an independent actress in Bengali drama Bhalo Theko in the year 2008.

E. Sreedharan

Elattuvalapil Sreedharan, was born on July12, 1932 and is a civil engineer from Jawaharlal technological university of Kakinada in the state of Andhra Pradesh. He had been the MD of Delhi Metro from 1995-2012 and hence known as "Metro Man". He took birth in Palakkad district in Kerala and his family belongs to Karukaputhur, Palakkad district, Kerala. He got his education at Basel Evangelical Mission Higher Secondary School.

KR Narayanan

Kocheril Raman Narayanan commonly known as K.R. Narayanan was the first Dalit to become the President of India. This tenth president of the country was born in Perumthanam, in village Uzhavoor, in the Kottayam district of Kerala. He had got the knowledge of journalism and then studied political science at London School of Economics. Narayanan started his career in India by becoming a member of Indian Foreign Service in the administration of Nehru. He offered his service as an ambassador to UK, Japan, Thailand, US, Turkey and People's Republic of China and Nehru considered him as "the best diplomat of the country". On request of Indira Gandhi, he stepped into politics and won 3 successive general elections of Lok Sabha. Under the reign of Rajiv Gandhi, he became the Minister of State in Union Cabinet.

Shashi Tharoor

Indian Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Shashi Tharoor came into this world on 9th March, 1956. He is the Member of Parliament (MP) from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Besides this he is an author as well as a columnist. Adding feathers to his personality, he was a career official at United Nations, till 2007 and rose to acquire the position of Under-Secretary General for Communications and Public Information. He resigned when he lost for post of Secretary General to Ban Ki-moon in 2007. He offered his service as a Minister of State for the Ministry of External Affairs in 2009 but gave resignation soon due to a controversy.

K. C. Venugopal

K.C. Venugopal took his birth on 4th February, 1963 in Kannur, in the Indian state of Kerala. He is a politician as well as the Minister of State for Civil Aviation in India. As a Member of Parliament, he represents Alappuzha Lok Sabha Constituency. His parents were Kunjukrishnan and Janaki Amma. He started participating in politics through Student Movement of Indian National Congress and was declared the State President of the Kerala Students Union as well as the State President of the Indian Youth Congress. He got elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly in the years 1996, 2001 and 2006 and from 2004-2006, he offered his service as Minister for Dewaswom and Tourism in Oommen Chandy Ministry from 2004-06.

E. Ahamed

E. Ahamed was born on 29th April in 1938 and belongs to Kannur, Kerala. He began his career as a lawyer but at present he holds a post of Minister of State for External Affairs in India and also represents Kerala’s Malappuram Lok Sabha constituency. He Ahamed is the member of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and consists of the designation of President of the All India Committee of IUML. Mr. E. Ahamed got his education from Government Brennen College, Tellichery as well as the Law College, Thiruvananthapuram.

M. M. Jacob

Mundakkal Mathew Jacob is a popular politician of India who took his birth on 9th August, 1928 at Ramapuram, in the district of Kottayam, in the Indian state of Kerala. His parents were Shri Ulahanan Mathew and Shrimati Rosamma Mundakkal and tied his knot with Achamma Kunnuthara who hailed from Tiruvalla, Kerala. He got an appointment as the Governor of Meghalaya in 1995 and in 2000 again.

Paloli Mohammed Kutty

Representing the Ponnani constituency in the district of Malappuram of Kerala Legislative Assembly, Paloli Mohammed Kutty is a politician as well as a social worker. He was born on November 11, 1931. He has been Minister for Local Administration in the Government of Kerala in past and is a member of State as well as Central Committee of Communist Party (Marxist).

Prakash Karat

On 7th February, 1948, Prakash Karat took birth in Letpadan, Burma. He is a communist politician in India and since 2005 until at present, he holds the post of General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He tied his knot with Brinda Karat, her party colleague, in the year 1975 and belonged to the Bengal state. Her wife was working in the Air India office in London, prior to joining CPI(M) as fulltime cadre. At present she is a member of the Politburo.
