There are many beautiful parks and gardens in Delhi and Kalindi Kunj is one of them. It is a public garden, located close the Okhla barrage and on the River Yamuna banks. It has been named after the river and goddess Yamuna who’s other name is Kalindi. It is situated very close to the Delhi and Noida border in Uttar Pradesh and is easily accessible via Mathura Road on the way to Faridabad in Haryana.

It is a beautiful park and its beauty is attributed to manicured lawns and beautiful colored fountains. This park was created and designed by an engineer named S. S. Agarwal and his group. It is famous tourist attraction for people visiting Delhi and/or Noida as there is also an attached amusement and water park named Delhi Rides. It is huge waterpark and it has capacity for as many as 3000 visitors. Moreover, it can accommodate 5000 people in different rides at the same time. There is also a baby game area.

The park is visible from a very far off distance as it has a giant wheel that has been named as the Delhi Eye. This offers a magnificent view of the city from its 36 air conditioned cabins. There are various other joy rides and a perfect place for couples and families to spend some quality time and have fun. The Okhla Bird Sanctuary is also nearby.

History of Kalindi Kunj

There is no history associated with this park as this is quite a new addition to the list of parks and amusement parks in Delhi. First the beautiful garden was created along with its colorful fountains and then the amusement park was developed to attract more visitors.

The development of this park started in the year 2010 and it was made open to the public in 2012.

Best Time to Visit and Visiting Hours

The amusement park can be visited at any time of the year and the water rides can bring some amount of relief from the hot Delhi summers.

Kalindi Kunj is a beautiful garden without the amusement park as well and it is best to visit this park in the morning time and evening. During the morning, it is calm and serene and the evenings are the best time to see the colors of the fountains.

The park is open all 7 days a week from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

How to Reach

Since, it is located along the Delhi and Noida border, it is best to visit this place with a taxi or private car. It is located near to the Apollo hospital.

If you are planning to take the metro, then get down at the Jasola Apollo station. From here, you will get auto rickshaws which would take you to this park.

H Nizamuddin Railway Station is located about 7 km from this park and from here you can avail autos and taxis to reach this place.

The Indira Gandhi International Airport is located 20 km from this park.
