Rashtriya Dalit Prerna Sthal and Green Garden is in Noida, district Goutam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, India. This memorial is the gateway to Noida. Rashtriya Dalit Prerna Sthal is dedicated to the Dalits. It is located along the banks of the Yamuna River. Rashtriya Dalit Prerna Sthal is built over 82.5 acres. This memorial is commissioned by Mayawati, Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and inaugurated in 2011. Over 40, 000 people attended the Inauguration function. But it has reopened to the public in 2013.

This memorial includes Rashtriya Dalit Smarak, which is a small museum, and green garden on 82.5 acres of land. Rashtriya Dalit Smarak (National Dalit memorial), which is built over 33 acres of land, includes statues of Dalit leaders such as Bhimrao Ambedkar, Kanshi Ram, Mayawati and others, who has devoted their life for the social justice and humanity. It is a 40 meter high structure, which is surrounded by statues of elephants. Rashtriya Dalit Prerna Sthal built with a cost of 685 Crore. The aim of development of this memorial is to present social transformation process and convey the message to coming generation. Extensive plantation enhances the beauty of Rashtriya Dalit Prerna Sthal.

The National Dalit memorial includes Ambedkar plaza, column plaza and central plaza. Ambedkar plaza contains 15 statues of Dalit icons, whereas column plaza has 300 foot high pillars. Central dome contains, 18 feet high bronze statue of Dr. Babashaeb Ambedkar at the center, with other statues of Mayawati who is Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Kanshi Ram, who is founder of Bahujan Samaj Party on either side. This mini museum also has 20 sculptures of red sandstone elephants. 10 elephants on each side, have their trunks raised up, a typical traditional welcome gesture that makes it really memorable.

After the inauguration in 2011, the Rashtriya Dalit Prerna Sthal was closed for 2 years. It was reopened to the public on Mahatma Gandhi’s 114th birth anniversary, 2 October 2013. The government has announced that events like wedding as well cultural events can be organized in Green Park. Noida authority provided the basic facilities like drinking water, toilet, chairs, etc. Entry to this monument is from main gate opposite to the dome.

Visitor Information

The Rashtriya Dalit Prerna Sthal and Green Garden is open from Tuesday to Sunday. For maintenance, it is closed on Monday. The entry fee is 10 Rs for adults, and children above 5 years. Visiting hours are from 11am to 6 pm.

How to Reach

By Road

Rashtriya Dalit Prerna Sthal is in Goutam Buddha Nagar in Noida. Noida is well connected to cities in the India by road. Noida is 20 km from New Delhi. Taxi, auto and cycle rickshaws are available in the city for short distance transport.

By Train
