Dhumall
This form of dance is the most popular form of folk dance in the entire state of Punjab. Commonly people refer this dance as Dhamal dance because of the nature and enthusiasm involved in the performance of this dance. This dance is accomplished by Punjabi males only. The Dhumall folk dance is performed while moving in the circle. A number of males gathers to perform the dance in various small circles. A drummer stands in the middle and the dancers perform the dance surrounding him. The dance movements are performed following the beats of drum. The costume worn in this dance form is a colorful piece of cloth named lungi with a waistcoat black in color. The vibrant color turban is also worn. The use of ghungroos is also common while performing the dance. The steps involved in this form are very much same as those performed in Bhangra.
