Manjusha Museum
India is one of the unique countries in the world that has an ancient heritage. It is the duty of every Indian to preserve and promote this rich heritage. Museums are one of the ways in which our history, culture and heritage can be preserved. Manjusha Museum located at Dharmasthala in Karnataka is one such museum.
History
Sometimes, all it takes is the effort of one single individual to take a giant step. It was the efforts and noble vision of Shri Veerendra Heggade, the Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala that saw the making of Manjusha Museum. His ardent desire to restore remnants of culture and showcase them to fellow Indians and the world saw the amazing collection at the museum.

Ancient Temple Chariots
Earlier, temple chariots were important parts of temples. These chariots had amazing carvings on them and were unique piece of art and craftsmanship. Over time, they got damaged and temples too did not have expertise or means to restore them. Called as chariots of gods, these chariots if damaged were considered inauspicious. Shri Heggade has managed to restore many such chariots and they are displayed with pride in the museum. These chariots evoke devotion and wonder among visitors.
Vintage Cars
This gallery has a vast collection of carriages and vehicles from the horse drawn carriages to modern cars. An attraction of this gallery is a car which had the Father of the Nation as its passenger. There is also a model of the first car ever invented. There is a good collection of vintage cars owned by royals and there are many cars of present era too. All these cars are in perfect running condition.
Other Attractions
There are also displays of sculptures, artefacts, pens, toys and many items which were used in households in course of time. There is also a unique section devoted to cameras and the collection is so amazing that one can literally trace the evolution of cameras and photography while going through the collection. There are also displays of paintings and jewellery.
Timings and Tickets
It is open on all days from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4.30 pm to 9 pm.
