In Jammu and Kashmir’s capital city that is Srinagar, Gurdwara Chatti Padshahi is situated at Rainwari locality and in Kathi Darwaja area. Recently it is found that a big building of Gurudwara is constructing. Free community kitchen that is Langar and lodging both are available at this Gurudwara. To spot Guru Hargobind Sahib’s Parkash Utsav as a sacred day, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir announce it as a holiday. Besides Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir is the only one state of India which celebrates this Parkash Utsav day as Government holiday.

Additionally there is another famous Gurudwara in Srinagar which is known as Chatti Padshahi. This is one of the chief visitor’s attraction sights but is also a significant place of adoration for Sikh pilgrims. This Gurudwara is positioned in Rainawari region of Srinagar. It is regarded as the most imperative location for the devotees. Majority of pilgrims assemble here in order to present their prayers. It is considered that Sikhs sixth guru traveled throughout Jammu and Kashmir so that he can moralized a Gurudwara. History

This Gurdwara inhabits a hall in rectangle shape along with a workroom in the core. It also has a spacious veranda in facade. Tourists visiting this Gurudwara will even find an ancient well which was said that it have been burrowed on orders given by Guru Hargobind. A huge Gurdwara edifice has been built freshly.

  • Nearest Airport: One can land on Srinagar Airport and from there they can reach to Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara by taking a drive.
  • Nearest Railhead: The nearest railway head is situated at Jammu Railway Station. This station is 305km from city of Srinagar.
  • Roadways: A fine number of roadways are interconnected with Srinagar to the rest of the town.

Thing to Carry

Worshippers visiting in summertime must keep light sweaters as nights occasionally become cooler. In winter season, the arrivals are asked to keep full winter gear as it is expected that in winter Jammu and Kashmir will receive snow. Also this place Srinagar inhabits few places where one can find hot water.

Safety/ Warning

Cameras and shoes are not permitted inside the Gurudwara. Even devotees going inside it has to keep their cell phone on silent mode.
