All the followers belonging to various Christian faiths visit various churches in Delhi. Delhi landscapes are adorned by Protestant churches, Catholic Churches and various other types of Churches. Few among them are:

Cathedral Church of the Redemption

Cathedral Church of the redemption is situated towards the eastern direction of New Delhi Parliament House. It took 8 years to build this church and was inaugurated in 1935. Henry Medd, the famous designer who constructed Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart, constructed this church too. The shape of this church resembles that of birthday cake with candle on top. The church interiors look magnificent and beautiful.  This splendid interior is completely contrasted to its plain and simple exteriors.

St. James Church

Located at Kashmere Gate, this Church is very famous in Old Delhi. James Skinner, the son of Rajput mother and Scottish Father constructed this Church. James Skinner was injured severely in war. He prayed to god with a promise of constructing a Church if he survived. He survived and built this church which is now referred as Delhi Saint James Church. Inside St. James Church there is James Skinner grave, located straight in altar front.

Sacred Heart Cathedral

This church is situated close to Gol Post Office, New Delhi. Franciscan First Order, Father Luke was desperate to construct a church in Delhi. He went on to purchase a land close to Gol Post Office to build a church. The church was constructed by Henry Medd, the designer for Church of Redemption for Anglicans and Sir Edwin Lutyen’s collaborator. All round the year, they preach the teachings of Christ here.

St. Dominic’s Church

This is a beautiful church situated at shady lavish green lanes of Delhi’s Vasant Vihar. Ones senses get calmed automatically by looking at this brick red colored building carrying a big cross. Inaugurated in the year 1980, this place is favorite destination for many people for positivity, hope, love, faith and worship.

Vatican Embassy Chapel

Vatican Embassy Chapel is situated in Delhi’s Church Mission Road. DPW Engineers along with Anglican mission built this in Italian Gothic architectural style. This comes under Delhi Diocese Church of North India. Inside St. Stephen’s Church there is a hospital and St. Stephen’s College.

Best Time to Visit the Delhi Churches

The presence of grand churches in the Delhi adorns its landscapes. Undoubtedly Christmas will be the most ideal time to visit all these churches, but one can also visits these churches any time during the year to experience unique scenic appeal of these churches.
