The proceeds from the sales at the exhibitions are donated towards the cause of environmental initiatives as a part of their CSR activities. The Paharpur Business centre is ISO certified company which is also a participant in the UN Global Compact and publishes the reports of sustainability as per the guidelines. The gallery is a non-profit initiative of Paharpur Business centre. It hosts many exhibitions of Indian art and hopes to earn fame across the world within a span of a few years. The organization has planned to turn this gallery into an art centre of six floors height. Among the significant exhibitions it has held the painting group shows to commemorate Late B.C.Sanyal (The Grand Old Man of Indian Contemporary Art). It also showcased the work of budding artists who were mostly former students of B.C.Sanyal. Another important exhibition was a group show showcasing photographs by Mr.Basant Kr.Birla titled as ‘Landscapes’ and works of art by Ms. Ganga Somany titled ‘Dreams on canvas’. The group show titled ‘Vibrant Brushes’ by contemporary artists Naval Kishore, Rohit Sharma, Pradeep Tarei and Pankaj Nigam earned words of appreciation from the art lovers. In this show five works by Rohit Sharma were displayed which portrayed his deeper understanding of the different shades of city life. Pradip Tarei’s five works on display were Peter the Great, Farmer, Foot Bridge, Seagulls and Mix Fruits. Samavedana was another splendid show hosted by the gallery in collaboration with Friends of Tribal Society. This art show was an initiative to provide education to 35000 children across rural India.

History

The show named ‘Vibrant Brushes’ was inaugurated by Padmashri Shovana Narayan, a well-known Kathak dancer and an ex IAS officer, Rajeev Lochan (director of National gallery of Modern Art), Radhika Shrinagesh (art curator and artist). Many other dignitaries were present in the show. A part of the proceeds from the sales were donated to Al Gore's The Climate Project – India. The paintings and photographs from the show ‘Landscapes’ and ‘Dreams on canvas’ were auctioned and the sale proceeds were donated to ‘Save the children’ fund and ‘Ramakrishna Sarada Mission’, Gangarampore. The auction was held by auctioneer and celebrity guest Ms. Shereen Bhan. The group show ‘Samvedana’ was inaugurated by Shri L.K Advani and was hosted at the residence of Kamal Meattle, chief executive officer of Paharpur business Centre. This show was held with a mission to impart education to more than 35000 children across Indian villages and a MoU was signed between The Climate Reality Project India and the Friends of Tribal Society. It was sponsored by Yes Bank, Max Foundation, and Cafe Buddy's.

Aims and Objectives

• To create a non-profit organization and donate the sale proceeds from the exhibition as a part of their corporate social responsibility.
• To convert the gallery into an art centre consisting of six floors.
• To promote art and artists across the country.

Collections

The gallery is the proud owner of the works of artists like Jamini Roy, Madhu Jain, l.Dinanath, Sarab Soni, Rohit Sharma, Nawal Kishore and many others. It has collected the five works by Pankaj Nigam which are "Friends" ,Dance for the Divine", "A Day in a Village", "Dance for the Divine 1" and Three monks". The collections of Nawal Kishore include "Relation, "Buddha with Peacock", "Bodhisattva", "Buddhist Meditation" and “Waiting for Morning".
