Education

The education in Chandigarh provides healthy and absolute advancement in learning in interesting and informative ways. Chandigarh education produces word class students in every stream who are researching in worldwide universities. The Government of union territory of Chandigarh has provided ample schools in its territory for fulfilling the plan to provide every child schooling facilities within one kilometer area of her/his residence. There are also quite large numbers of private educational institutions besides Government schools. The administration of Chandigarh is extending the ‘Grant-in-Aid’ policy to the recognized privately managed schools for encouraging the entrepreneurs in privately managed education. This ‘Grant-in-Aid’ is extended only to the schools having secular credentials and not to the distinct religion based schools. The education in Chandigarh is available to all irrespective of color, caste or dogma. The higher level of education in Chandigarh is also an excellent and department of education in Chandigarh administration oversees the four government colleges and their functioning well. These four colleges are equipped with extensive grounds, spacious campuses, outstanding infrastructures and auditoriums.

All these four colleges are allied to Panjab University and undertake courses in almost all key learning streams such as science, commerce and arts. These colleges also have courses in modern-day studies like Computer science, business administration and mass- communication. Three colleges have the Post Graduate level learning facilities in English, Economics, Commerce, Public Administration, Vocal and Instrumental music, Information Technology and Dance. Sales management and Functional English are also taught as job oriented courses. These colleges promote international competiveness. Chandigarh education is also rich in vocational educations and runs with equal importance beside conventional system of education.
